Monday, June 7th - No Sea Turtle Luck Today

The day started out nice and dry, the sun stayed behind the clouds, and we had a nice breeze walking back down the beach. Monday team picked up lots of trash, three grocery bags full - plastic bottles, balloons, and balloon ribbon, food wrappers, sun glasses, and some small toys. The most unusual piece of trash was a workout weight with fishline wrapped around it.
Peaceful morning
What kind of egg is this?

There is a large egg on the beach, much bigger than a chicken egg. I thought it may be a Goose, Heron or Egret egg. When I looked it up and compared pictures, it could also be a Mute Swan egg.

The Pelicans were hanging out on the sandbar by the inlet. The sailboats rails are above the sand again. Both nests are fine, Nest #2 did have some Ghost Cr holes around it, we filled those in. Only animal tracks on the beach were deer, and most of those tracks were on the upper end.

Todays beach finds, small Whelk, Baby's Ear and 2 Sea Urchins

Interesting find, a workout weight with fishline attached

Hoping the Tuesday team has some Sea Turtle Luck!
