Sunday August 5 Nest 3 Emerges!!

The Sunday walkers were welcomed by clear skies and hatchling tracks at Nest # 3!!
This nest was laid on June 10 just above Marker 5 in the middle of the beach. 82 eggs
were relocated a few feet closer to the dunes away from the extreme high tides that the
summer brings. The hatchlings emerged on day 56 of incubation. Inventory to be announced.
Nest 2 and Nest 4 continue to be plagued by ghost crabs. Karen will be inventoring Nest 4 on Tuesday and hopefully Nest 2 also.

Hatchling tracks!!

This is what the rain storms obliterate and cause us
problems!!

Poor Nest 2!! We are hoping all the hatchlings are gone
from this nest!!

Okay. The dead tree washed up on the upper end
is being decorated by beachcombers!! We left it for
your enjoyment. However, the debris washed up after
these storms is formidable!!
