Saturday, July 1st - No Turtle Activity

This morning, we did not have any sea turtle activity. Oddly enough, we actually found a washed up Pond Slider, a freshwater turtle.

We also found a washed up Plumed Worm, a type of marine worm that uses shells to protect itself.

We found a large chunk of sea sponge.

Lastly, we found a living Channeled Whelk! You can tell it is alive by how heavy it is and the little trap door closing off the inside (the operculum). It was carefully placed back into the water.
