Tuesday, September 14th - Fire on Waties - Hog Inlet

The big news of the morning, besides the inventory of Nest 12 - a fire at the lower end. It was quite a blaze. Bill and a fisherman called 911. It took them about a half hour to get there but they were in full force. We even had a fire boat. After the inventory we went down and spoke to them. They were still putting water on the smolders but it was out.  We escaped a bullet due to their service. It was quite a blaze.

Quite a few vehicles on our island this morning.  Bill had to back up quite distance to let the bulldozer through. They were trying to clear some debris out and they talked about putting a trail through so they could get back in there.

Lots of Fire Vehicles, on the island, Fire Truck parked on the road out to the island, Horry County Fire Department, North Myrtle Beach Fire and Rescue, and CCU Fire Marshall.  A bulldozer was headed to the beach when we left.  Wonder what surprises await us tomorrow.
