NEST #9

As usual, we had a beautiful morning sky!

Just above Nest #4 which was after MM 4 and before MM 5 we had a 35/36 inch crawl!  She came in on the left.   After leaving behind a very large disturbed area, she exited on the right.   We probe for 20 minutes starting at the mound on the left side. We were starting to get frustrated thinking "Oh no, not another crawl like Monday!" 

But, BINGO!  Bill found the nest!!  YAHOO!!  This makes 5 or 6 of the 9 nests so far for his team.  The arrow shows the area we first started to prob and the X below shows where we found the nest.

Every few feet on the incoming crawl there were these drag marks in the middle of the crawl.

Nest #7 -  2 more Ghost Crabs caught for a total of 12 crabs to date for this nest.  Hopefully this is the last of them.  Just one very small crab hole in front of the reed.  Didn't look like it entered the nest.

Saw this guy on our way out as we were making the left to go back to the shed.

The silver railing is all that remains showing of boat at the lower end of the island.
