Second day, beautiful, quiet, but uneventful day.
We did find a knobbed whelk egg mass string which was in great shape. Picture below. This string produces dozens of disk-like shaped capsules where tiny hatchling whelks emerge. This string had holes in the discs indicating they had emerged.
I also attached a picture of different knobbed shells they could be when matured.
