The Monday team had a very windy walk and with the tide coming in, we had to walk more in the soft sand vs the wet packed sand. The wind was really wicked today, in fact it was a two plus hands day for trash pick-up. You would pick trash up but needed more than two hands to get the trash into your trash bag. No Sea Turtle activity and the Nest #1, looked good. We picked up lots of balloons today, beach toys, food wrappers, plastic bottles, and a few sunglasses.
The campers the Sunday team observed were gone, we could see lots of footprints, and tire tracks, but they picked up and looked like they took everything with them. Did not see any evidence of trash etc, where they camped but with the wind, it may have blown away. The Sunday Team had found these interesting red plastic "bullets". Today Sharon found a large number tucked away in the sand. Does anyone know what these are?
Sharon and I had our scissors with us, so we cut as much of the big plastic black tarp that was buries in sand the Hog Inlet area. We did get a lot of it, but there is still more. Walking back we noticed that someone started digging out the sailboat again.
