It was a beautiful morning, cool and calm. Not much to report, especially after yesterday's excitement. A NEST this early in the season! AND a seal! Unheard of!!!
We checked our first nest. Everything was good. It was easy to imagine the eggs below the surface quietly laying in the sand, snug and secure.
We saw lots of birds on the lower end. It's been a long time since I've seen so many at one time.
The only other thing to report is the condition of the boat that was stranded a few years ago. As you can see by the picture below there isn't much that would tell you there was a whole boat below all that sand. One thing to make note of though, a little piece of metal poking up from the sand not far from the metal bar.
