Friday, June 12 - False Crawl #6

Sharon and I got lucky with the weather. It was sprinkling a little when we arrived at the shed this morning,  you could see it raining over the ocean, but we dodged the rain.

We walked the short end first today. A good thing, another False Crawl. The momma turtle came in just a little south of Marker 2, she crawled up into the dry sand, turned around and left. Per her tracks, she was not on the beach long. Could be the same mother, from yesterday, her crawl size is 33 inches.

We headed north/west to walk the long end and the beach looked so dirty from the dried remnants of the seafoam. It was a dirty job picking up trash today, we are still picking up lots of balloons and plastic bottles.

The nests are fine, there were 2 ghost crab holes by the DNR sign for nest #1 - they were covered up.

Even thought the threat of storms were around us, it was a nice walk on the beach, tide was out, no hot sun, and a nice breeze.
