The day started out a little cloudy, but the clouds moved on and we had a delightful morning with a nice ocean breeze. Nest #8 was discovered on the lower portion of the island, between Marker 1 and 2. This is our first nest on the lower portion of the island.
It was a classic crawl and body pit, and the egg chamber was found in short order. The egg chamber was shallow. She crawled around the piles of washed up trees, so we will need to watch these at the time of emergence.
We left some memory items at the nest in memorial for our friend and fellow turtle enthusiast, Nancy.
