It is always a good morning on the beach when we find turtle activity! Today's walkers had just started their patrol up the beach when we found a long set of tracks heading up into the dunes.
The alternating pattern of the tracks indicates that she is a loggerhead. Looking closely, we didn't see any evidence of nesting activity.
Right up the dune face (and almost over the top!) |
But no time spent up there; she headed right back to the ocean |
The is our first false crawl of the season. Perhaps this mother will make a return visit tonight and give us our first nest of 2022!
