The tide was pretty high last night but all of our nests stayed high and dry.
Pretty quiet on our patrol until we got up to Marker 7. That's when we could see tracks crossing the beach ahead of us. Sure enough, turtle tracks made by our "special needs turtle" / SNT. We didn't investigate it right away but continued up the beach. Only a short distance further was another set of tracks by our SNT, partially washed away by the high tide. We did probe but called it FC 25.

Not the real thing... |
But we did recognize the distinctive tracks of our SNT in both crawls. It can be discouraging knowing she has made so many false crawls, but this was a NEST! #17 for the season!

This time she was on the beach longer |

Probe, probe, probe and then almost fall in! That's the nest.

There it is! Not very deep. |
