This nest was laid on May 26 and found morning of Lunar Eclipse. It was a textbook crawl, she came up did her job and went right back out. Her crawl was 32",and right before M.M.8.
The Monday Team discovered the emergence hole but no hatchlings tracks ,due to wind and rain most likely. So the emergence date was 8/2, meaning it emerged on day 68. Once uncovered we found - 80 eggs hatched, 34 unhatched 2 piped, (dead hatchlings 1/2 out of shell), and 1 live hatchling very anxious to get to water. Nest 2 had a Hatch Success of 65.5% and an Emergence Success of 64.7%.
It was a nice cool morning, and all other nests are just fine.
Look closely, this little one just took off over everything in his way. We did not see him at first, he was hidden in a handful of empty shells.
Happy to take him to the ocean, where he went right in!!
Thursday Team
