The morning threatened rain, but there was no sign of thunder and lightning. Thanks to Shirley, we had lots umbrellas and decided to take them along just in case. The tide line was very high from the night before. Above mile marker 6 the tide reached the dunes. If we had had a nest on the upper end of the island, they would have been washed over.
Checked on nest #1. The tide only slightly entered the cage. But there was a crab hole at the edge of the front part of the cage. Also, on the lower end of the cage, it looked like another crab had attempted to dig a hole.
